The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has been restrained from participating in the PDP governorship primary elections by a federal high court sat in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Omoregir Ogbeide-Ihiama , a party aspirant, filed a suit against the governor who just joined PDP from the opposition party to be stopped from participating in the primaries.
He argued that Obaseki was not part of the candidate that was initially screened by the National working committee of the people’s democratic party before the time scheduled on the time-table expired hence, his exclusion from the primaries.
Hon. Justice E. A. Obile presided over the court hearing and Omoregir’s request was granted.
