The Federal Government will today begin to evacuate stranded Nigerians abroad.
The activity, it was found out, will begin with the 265 Nigerians in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
There are more than 4,000 Nigerians abandoned over the globe due to lockdown occasioned by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As per an announcement by Mr. Ferdinand Nwonye, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs the primary bunch of evacuees will show up today, while the subsequent cluster will roll in from London on Friday. The third cluster will show up three days after the fact from New York, United States.
Information from the announcement suggests that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is emptying Nigerians from abroad and as per Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) rule, the evacuees will experience a compulsory 14-d regulated isolate in a screens domain.
In such manner, Emirate aircraft is booked to clear the main bunch of 265 Nigerians from Dubai, UAE and they will show up at 3pm on Wednesday, sixth May 2020 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos.
